Bonnier Gazell is the new home for Arc Music in Scandinavia.

Bonnier Music Publishing / Bonnier Gazell Music has signed a new sub-publishing agreement for the representation of the Arc Music Group in Scandinavia commencing 1st July this year.

In the catalogue of Arc Music is a unique treasure of some of the most famous, classic and influential songs in Rock ’n’ Roll, R&B, Gospel, Big Band, Jazz and Surf music. ”Roadrunner”, ”Dizzy Miss Lizzie”, ”Susie Q”, ”Smokestack Lightning”, ”Going Down Slow”, ”Bright Lights Big City”, “You Never Can Tell”, ”Surfin´ USA” and many more titles written by artists and writers like Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, John Lee Hooker, Memphis Slim, Muddy Waters, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, a.o.

Lars Wiggman (MD Bonnier Music Publishing / Bonnier Gazell Music):
I am most proud and happy to have been given the trust to work with this goldmine of songs that have laid the tracks for almost all of the rock and pop music that we hear today. Many of these artists and titles have also been my personal favourites, thanks to introduction by the English bands (Rolling Stones, Animals, Them, Yardbirds etc.) who wore these music roots so proudly on their sleeves.

Arc Music was founded by the brothers Leonard and Phil Chess in Chicago, who at the end of the 40s started to release “electric blues” and other “black” music on the record labels Chess and Vee Jay Records. The company’s headquarters is now in New York and is still owned by the family. Leonard’s son Marshall Chess is the President of the company since some years. The relationship between Dag Häggqvist, board member at Bonnier Music Publishing / Bonnier Gazell Music and Marshall goes back to the 60s when Sonet introduced the Chess-label in Scandinavia.

Arc and Bonnier has already started to work together through the representation of Edimusica and Discos Fuentes, where the first 3 albums in the record collection “Ola Latina” will be released before the summer by the Bonnier Amigo Music Group.
